SMC Photo

I do photography as a hobby and as a side business. I began my photographic endeavors in 1976 with an Olympus Pen FT (Half-Frame) 35mm camera. I soon found myself working part-time as a wedding photographer for Henry Sanders Photo Lab in Covington, Kentucky. It was great $25 per wedding and all the food (and entertainment) you can get. Some of my best stories come from weddings I've shot.

I have done about 200 weddings since 1977 and a half dozen special events. I no longer live in Kentucky, but I still do weddings and special events when asked. Below are links to some of the events, weddings and settings I have shot in the last few years. Also are links to some of my models that I shoot for my hobby (many of which have been seen in the Greene Co. and Montgomery Co. fairs over the last few years).

When time permits (meaning I have to scan the negatives) I will post those works that have won ribbons at the fairs. (I went totally digital in June 2004 and only have a couple of shots that have won ribbons taken with my Nikon D70).

I hope you enjoy seeing these as much as I have taking and presenting them.

Two Cousins and Their Boys

One of the services I offer is portraits on location (usually the client's home). These photos were taken at the client's grandmother's house.

Brenda H.

Brenda has modeled for me for about 3 years now. These are a collection of many of the sessions we have shot.

The Cincinnati Caledonians

Large events are fun and tiring. I offer both candid shots during the event and posed portraits during slow times.

Amanda Y.

This shoot with Amanda was done at the Krohn Conservatory in Cincinnati, Ohio in 2002.

The Family Portrait

This family wanted a 16x20 inch Black and White portrait of the children to hang over their mantle. Since their home was not large enough for the shoot, we used their church's fellowship hall instead. (I have included both the color and B&W versions here, and, for the life of me, I cannot remember which one they chose.)

Alicia H.

This was an experiment. I like many of the shots here, but I'm not sure if I consider the experiment a success. These were taken at the Metro V building in Dublin, Ohio.

The Hill Wedding

This is my only wedding that I have in digital format, so it's the one I'm putting up here. The only problem is that the bride had a fight with her mother the morning of the wedding and she refused to smile in most of the pictures. Therefore, I am displaying only a sample of the 505 pictures I took for the wedding.

Janay S.

This shoot was taken in July 2004 at the Cox Arboretum in Dayton, Ohio. One of my blue ribbon winners came from this shoot.

Nicole W.

This is the first shoot I had with Nicole. It was taken at a park off of Cosgray Rd. outside of Hilliard, Ohio.

Nicole W.

This shoot was taken at Krohn Conservatory in Cincinnati, Ohio in December 2005.
